I am a third year art student from Holland.

I started my scanning fascination about 7 years ago by accident. I left the lid open, and it scanned the sealing. Then it scanned the movement of my hand, closing the lid, and it gave quite a nice effect. I put a glass on it and moved it around, and the result was a space like long light shape, with all kind of colors and reflections.. My passion was born.
It is very interesting to me how objects ‘melt’ in time. The shapes stretch out, become almost liquid when you move them while scanning.
I think the scanner is a great medium for art, to experiment with. It’s an underrated instrument for photography. The beauty, for me, is in the creative possibilities of everyday household devices.
