People’s lives are affected by commitments and restrictions, either through love or wider cultural issues.

Dolls have been used in role play in childhood and in the adult world for centuries. Research has proved that inanimate objects still provoke feeling and reaction.

To this end my work takes these ideas into account and presents its own story. Small lives.

I have drawn upon, talked about, photographed, written in search of a new light. In the process I find scanning invokes the most reaction, the time spent balancing, preparing, waiting for light to emerge, brings words and findings.

The scanner brings shape and shadow like no other medium.
