For a number of years I have been painting, exploring personal reflections on family. Then in 1986, I bought my first computer, and scanner and started scanning flowers. The odd depth of field and relative flatness of space revealed by the scanner captivated me. Something I had also been exploring in my paintings. I started arranging flowers in fields and also as bouquets, sometimes drawing the vases, and eventually scanning antique vases to use in the arrangements. Some of the files grew as large as 70 different layers. I have been working with Hunter Editions in Maine to print the work on archival paper since I started using computer scanners.

In 1976, while living in Chicago I started using a 3 color Xerox machine. At the time there were only three in North America I was scanning objects exploring sequential animations. Around this time I made my first artist postage stamps, and created the Company I call ”Cow Town Art”. I have made over a hundred editions of stamps. One sheet of stamps was created using scanned cigarette butts, when I was quitting smoking. Some of my work was included in Electroworks originated by the George Eastman House Museum of Photography and traveled to the Smithsonian Museum, and other venues. The show featured work of copy machine art. My artist stamps have been featured twice in group shows at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago as well as other museums and galleries throughout the world.
