As for a little background on my scan-compulsions: It began as an experiment and a complement to my scavenging tendencies; every season, I collect different things from the woods near my house -- bones, leaves, flowers, dead insects, feathers, storm-thrown bird nests... anything that catches my eye & is no longer alive. I create dioramas as a kind of memento mori to the passing seasons and display them around my house. I wanted to see a lot of the objects I collected on a larger scale and in different ways so I had a natural compulsion to scan them. I found it the perfect way to remember/display these ephemeral objects beyond physical display. Death, rebirth, and the symbology of dreams dominate everything I create.
When I am not scanning, I am a Graphic Design student scheduled to graduate in Fall of 2015. I spend all my leisure time in the woods, studying bugs, exploring ruins, and writing about worlds I wish existed.
