I live in Markdorf, which is situated in the south of Germany close to the Lake of Constance. I have been engagaged in scannography for about 8 years. My passion for scannography began, when I did an experimental scan with a beautifully coloured autumn leaf. I was absolutely fascinated by the true colours of the scanned object. So I decided to experiment with more leaves combining them with other material.
I just couldn`t stop collecting floral material from fields, forests, meadows and gardens. I developed my own technique in order to steadily improve my scans. I finally managed to achieve artistically arranged scans built up from flowers, sap, leaves, berries, fruit, moss, bark and fungi. My scans are born from love of nature and maybe with a bit of hidden artistical talent.
Surprisingly scannography had for me a side effect which I never had dreamt of. I completely recovered from a burn out due to my job as a proposal manager in a space company for 30 years. "Back to nature" has been my slogan ever since.
